Beverley McKeon, USNC/TAM (Caltech)
Horacio Espinosa, Northwestern University
The USNC/TAM proposes a series of invited talks followed by a short panel discussion on the legacy of Theodore von Karman in mechanics (solids and fluids) on the 100th anniversary of the Innsbruck meeting that led to IUTAM, spanning his impact on:
• Research
• Education
• International collaboration
After discussion with Chad Landis, we propose a two-hour session: 4 x 20 minute talks + 5 mins Q&A each, 20 minute panel discussion
